Description

TYRE DEFLATOR

The tyre deflators are simply screwed onto each tyre valve stem doing all of the work for you! All you have to do is take them off your tyres when they stop deflating and you’re set to go off-road!

The Staun Tyre Deflators can be used for all types of four wheel driving ranging from coastal sand driving, desert sand driving and rock climbing to mud driving. The tyre deflators are supplied at a preset pressure of 18psi, but this pressure can be adjusted to your desired level.

FEATURES

  • They are fully adjustable
  • Each deflator has an adjustment range specific to the level of deflation you require
  • They are easy to use, not requiring any tools
  • They are highly accurate, deflating to within 0.25psi of the preset pressure they have been adjusted to
  • They are the smallest tyre deflators available measuring only 30mm x 15mm (1.18” x 0.6”)
  • They are one of the lightest deflators weighing only 32 grams (1.13 ounces)
  • They are made of 100% brass
  • They are the fastest deflators on the market (tests found a normal 10rx15 tyre takes approx. 1 minute and 30 seconds to deflate from 32psi to 18psi)
  • Every deflator is completely pre-tested to ensure high performance
  • They are covered with a 2 year guarantee
  • They can be used for all types of four wheel driving ranging from coastal sand driving, desert sand driving, rock climbing to mud driving.

FULLY ADJUSTABLE

With an adjustment range of 30psi down to 6psi, the tyre deflators are fully adjustable and are the smallest tyre deflators available measuring only 30mm x 15mm (1.18” x 0.6”). They are also one of the lightest tyre deflators weighing only 32 grams (1.13 ounces), made of 100% brass. Every tyre deflator is completely pre-tested to ensure high performance and are covered with a 2 year guarantee.

The Staun tyre Deflators can be used for all types of four wheel driving ranging from coastal sand driving, desert sand driving and rock climbing to mud driving. The tyre deflators are supplied at a preset pressure of 18psi, but this pressure can be adjusted to your desired level. How much you reduce your tyre pressure depends on a variety of factors, such as how much weight your tyres are supporting, or the softness of the surface that you will be travelling on.

WHY DEFLATE YOUR TYRES?

Increasing Your Vehicle’s Traction

A 25-30% decrease in tyre pressure will yield up to 250% improvement in traction, by increasing the depth and width of the tyre on the surface.

Reducing Resistance To Obstacles

Tests have shown a 40% improvement in overcoming obstacles at lower tyre pressures, due to the low pressure tyres being able to conform to the obstacle. Therefore the drive becomes a less bumpy, much softer ride.

Minimising Environmental Disruption

An inflated tyre will leave a noticeably more significant imprint on the terrain it is crossing, which can be reduced by simply reducing the tyre pressure. This works to protect and conserve our natural environment, meaning everyone can enjoy the off-road experience in the future.

Improving Fuel Economy By 10-15%

Fuel usage increases when tyres are at higher pressures because more revs and greater acceleration is required to take the vehicle over the off-road surfaces.

Improved Ablity To Travel On Softer Surfaces

The bigger the footprint, the softer the surface you can travel on as the weight of the vehicle is distributed over a larger surface area. When tyres have very little or no traction they have a greater chance of getting bogged down or stuck in the surface or terrain that they are being driven on.

Reducing Wear And Tear On Drive Train Components

When driving with higher tyre pressure on soft surfaces your vehicle may well develop axle hop caused by losing and regaining traction, resulting in more wear and tear on drive train components such as differentials, gear boxes, axles and bearings.

DEFLATORS ARE SUPPLIED AT A PRESET PRESSURE

The deflators are supplied at a preset pressure, however you can adjust this pressure to your desired level. It is not necessary to reset them again unless you wish to change the psi that you want to reduce your tyre pressure to.

Exactly how much you reduce your tyre pressure depends on a variety of factors, such as how much weight your tyres are supporting. Additionally the softness of the surface that you are travelling on will also affect how much you need to let your tyres down. Through trial and error you can find your personal preference and determine what tyre pressure suits you.

Staun Tyre Deflators do not have a minimum start off pressure so you do not need to bring your tyre pressure back up in order to reduce it further. Simply turn the adjusting cap anti-clockwise to further reduce your tyre pressure. If they do not start automatically you can manually start them by lifting the pin. Please check your product header card for individual pressure settings.

The Staun Tyre Deflators need to be screwed on using the finger grip located at the base of the deflator body. Do not use the adjusting cap or lock ring to fix the deflator to the valve stem. For a comprehensive demonstration on how to install the deflators onto your tyres please view the video above.

AVAILABLE RANGES

Light Duty (0-10 PSI)

This deflator has been designed for those who require lower pressure ranges with extreme accuracy. Suitable for competitive Rock Crawlers & Dune Buggies who deflate to as low as 4 – 5 psi with bead locks.

This model comes preset at 7 psi and has an adjustment of 2 psi per half turn and 4 psi per full turn of the adjustment cap. It also only requires 2 psi above its preset pressure to start automatically, but can be manually started by lifting the pin as little as 1 psi above the preset pressure.

Standard (6-30 PSI)

This deflator has been designed to suit most 4WD deflation needs. Suitable for beach or bush pressures it comes preset at 18psi and is accurate to within 0.25psi.

It has an adjustment of 3psi per half turn and 6psi per full turn of the adjustment cap. Requiring 12 psi above its preset pressure to start automatically, they can be started manually by lifting the pin at as little as 2 psi above its preset pressure.

Heavy Duty (15-55 PSI)

The heavy duty deflators are distinguished from the standard by having an extra exhaust hole.

This deflator is designed to deflate to and from higher pressures. It is also accurate to within 0.25psi. Designed for use in the light to heavy trucking industry, it is also suitable for agricultural and farming equipment.

This model comes preset at 35psi and has an adjustment of 4psi per half turn and 8psi per full turn of the adjustment cap. It requires 20psi above its preset pressure to start automatically or can be manually started by lifting the pin at as little as 2 psi above its preset pressure.
